Affirmations are a wonderful way to start your day. They can help you set the tone for how you want your experience to be, and aid you in establishing your intention for the day.
There are so many benefits of using affirmations as part of your daily routine. They help increase your awareness of your thoughts and words making it easier to recognize the negative self-doubt thought patterns holding you back. Affirmations define your focus and drive your intentions and reveal your creativity.
Did you know affirmations are proven methods of self-improvement because of their ability to rewire our brains. Much like exercise, they raise the level of feel-good hormones and push our brains to form new clusters of “positive thought” neurons.
It turns out, our brains are pretty strict and straightforward about their language rules.
1) Positive affirmations are always in the present tense. If you see a positive affirmation that says “I will,” “I used to” or “I’m going to,” move on. Your brain only responds to present tense statements.
2) Positive affirmations only include positive words. If you see a positive affirmation that has words like “don’t,” “can’t” or “won’t,” it’s not a statement you’ll want to repeat. It takes your brain a lot of extra work to get past negative statements and transform them into positive ones.
3) Positive affirmations are spoken as statements of fact and truth. Statements that contain words like “might” and “could” aren’t nearly as powerful as statements that contain words like “am” and “do.”
If You Don’t Consciously Decide, Something Else Will
Because your brain is constantly looking for clues to filter your environment and guide your actions, it will pick up on any available influence.
This could mean all the subconscious fears and doubts you haven’t dealt with or even messages in your environment and those around you.
Luckily, you have a lot of control in this process. Your brain is eager to set you up for success, all you have to do is instruct it. This is why positive affirmations are so powerful.
Here are some simple affirmations to help you begin the day in an optimal mindset to live a positive creative open to all that surrounds you life. Check back often as I will be adding to this page as I add to my affirmations.
